Orrorsh originates in the cosm of Gaea, a world much like Earth, where the Victorian Empire (in this cosm Britain is called Victoria) holds out, fighting for survival against the terrible creatures which dominate much of that world, creatures which are the servants of the Gaunt Man.
The Victorian Empire is much like the 19th Century British Empire, both technologically and socially. Spiritual guidance comes from the Church of the Sacellum, a strict protestant-style church, who use the Book of the Sacellum as gospel. The god portrayed by this church is a harsh, angry god, and religious punishments and miracles reflect this.
The religious leaders of the Church of the Sacellum, make many of the decisions about common morality, and it is accepted by most Victorians that the Church is the only body strong enough to learn the deeper secrets of the horrors inhabiting the world, and that they should decide what the common man should be told.
The Victorians have colonised Indonesia (now known as Majestic) from their home world of Gaia for two reasons, firstly, to 'save the natives' from the horrors of the Gaunt Man, and secondly, to exploit the resources of the lands, and return wealth to the stagnant Gaian economy.
Magic (in the form of the Occult) and spiritual energies have significant power here, although both have been corrupted to some extent by the Gaunt Man. Evil is a very potent force here, and Wicked acts are always rewarded...... Anyone who steps beyond the bounds of 'decent' behaviour can gain great advantages, but risks eternal Damnation.

他のハイロードと戦ってこれを倒したこともあります。彼は今から3000年前、ふとした偶然からコアアースのコズムを発見します。 恐ろしいほどの量のポシビリティに満ち溢れた世界。 ここを征服してポシビリティを吸い上げれば、 Torg の座は一気に近づくでしょう。 しかし、コアアースはあまりにポシビリティが多すぎました。 ゴーントマンの力を持ってしても、普通にブリッジを落として侵略しようとすれば、 ポシビリティの反作用が強すぎて失敗するのは明らかでした。 そこでゴーントマンは、以後3000年間、 地球を征服するための計画を延々と練り続けて来ました。
やがて時は満ちました。彼は他に6人のハイロードを説得して味方につけ、 コアアースのポシビリティを山分けする約束で、 同時に侵略を開始することにしました。 途中いろいろあってサーコルドの侵略だけは失敗しましたが、 彼自身のオーロシュも入れて6つのコズムがコアアースに侵略、レルムを築きます。 彼はさらに地球の自転のエネルギーをも奪い、 コアアースから奪った莫大なポシビリティと合わせて、 自ら Torg になろうとします。
しかし、彼の野望は、とある勇敢なストームナイト達の手によって打ち砕かれました。 アイルの聖騎士、タンクレッド家のトルウィンが、 ゴーントマンの館であるイルマウンド城砦に乗り込み、 ハイロードとの戦いに勝利したのです。 さすがにゴーントマンを倒す事はできませんでしたが、 彼は激しいメールシュトロームの中に閉じ込められ、 2年以上の間活動を封じられることになります (See also The Defeat of Gaunt Man )
ゴーントマンのダークネス・デバイスは、名前を ヘケトン(Heketon)と言います。 ヘケトンは、黒曜石でできた心臓の形をしています。 ゴーントマン同様、ヘケトンは最も強力なダークネス・デバイスです。
